October 6, 2011 – Travels with Mr. Tigger – MIA Day

TRAVELS WITH MR TIGGER, AN M.I.A. MEMOIR
Once upon a time, a handsome Mancat named Mr Tigger lived happily with his furry siblings, Samantha Black & Woofie Maverick!

They’d run and play and chase geckos beneath the palm trees of sunny Florida.

Then one day, the news arrived that the whole family would be moving to the Lone Star state of Texas. And Mr Tigger was secretly very excited and happy about it. He saw himself chasing tumbleweeds, clawing at cactus and basking in the hot dry sun of a Texas summer. He knew he’d have to work hard though on purrfecting a good Texas drawling-meooow. That might take time!

And so the family moved.

Soon after, while the humans were still getting settled, unpacking and rearranging for their new lives … Mr Tigger took it upon himself to start exploring his new neighborhood. He donned his ten-gallon hat (well, maybe not quite ten-gallons, that’s a bit too big even for a big, ole handsome mancat!) … grabbed his roadmap, and off he went.

Now, even though Mr Tigger had been known to run and play out of doors, all this was “very new”. And he got a bit lost. Maybe he had an old map. He really wasn’t sure. But he just couldn’t find his way back home. He knew that his Hu-Mom and his furry sibs would be searching for him. And search they did, up and down and high and low. Everyone was worried and sad. Mr Tigger was not to be found.

Time passed, and everyone knew that too much time had passed. They knew in their hearts that Mr Tigger would not be coming home, he was missing in action. It was a very unhappy time for all. What they didn’t know was that Mr Tigger had been worried and sad also. He missed his wonderful family.

But when he realized that he could not and would not be able to get back to them, he went off to the Cat-Lands. Now this isn’t at all like crossing the Rainbow Bridge. It’s just a wonderful and happy place where all the kitties who’ve gone “missing” seem to find their way to. In the Cat-Lands they keep each other company, they share fun and food and shelter, and they share memories of the families they left behind. The Cat-Lands is a good place. And we know that Mr Tigger, and many others are content there.

Mr. Tigger you are always in our hearts!!

We miss you and know you are happy wherever you are!!

Love & Hugs,

Samantha, Clementine. Maverick & Mom

This is such a sad story and scares my Mum. We are moving in a month and she is worried that this could happen to me if we aren't careful. I have a microchip now, and I am being forced to learn how walk while wearing a harniss.
I miss Mr. Tigger too, he was a great role model mancat.

We so wish that one day Mr. Tigger could let you know where he was @. We sure do miss him at the M-Cats Club, just isn't the same here without him. ~Socks

We are so sorry about Mr. Tigger. Our cat baby went missing for a week once, she opened a screen window! We were so releaved to find her but we know this is a common, and tragic, problem

Oh, this is so sad. This is what every person who is owned by a cat fears. We hope Mr. Tigger has found a safe place and is with a nice family. Livia broke out a screen door and went missing 4 years ago and I was just sick about it. I found her in the last place I looked. We send y'all many purrs from Michigan.
